James E. Sievert was introduced to hypnosis during his undergraduate study at Bowling Green State University. After attending a stage hypnosis presentation, James began to use imagery techniques to help with his studies. He also began to guide others to use imagery and mental focusing techniques prior to on stage performances.
James took his formal hypnosis training in 1999 through the Infinity Institute, with Dr. Anne Spencer. After becoming an IMDHA Certified Hypnotherapist, James joined his wife in forming Personal Growth Hypnosis Center in Berea, Ohio. As the practice grew, the offices were relocated to Strongsville, Ohio and subsequently to Fairview Park, Ohio.
During this time, James continued with additional training by studying with Marx Howell, to become a Certified Forensic Hypnotist and Trainer, through Collin County Community College in McKinney, Texas. Following this, James pursued training in NLP, through Dr. Wil Horton and the National Federation of Neuro-Linguistic Psychology, eventually becoming a trainer of NLP.
James has presented programs at the IMDHA Annual Conference, including Overcoming the Fear of Success and a Specialty Certification Training on Performance Improvement. In addition, James has volunteered as a room monitor at the IMDHA Annual Conference for three consecutive Conferences.
In 2006, James and his wife, Patricia, were named Lifetime Fellows of the IMDHA. James holds all of his teachers in life in the highest regard, and acknowledges his indebtedness to them for their generosity and their influence on his development in the field of Hypnosis.
James also teaches Taijiquan in a Community Education setting as well as Qigong at a hospital affiliated fitness and Rehabilitation Center in Northeast Ohio.
Patricia A. Sievert has been involved with hypnosis over 40 years. As a young teen, she was interested in expanding her mind without the use of drugs. She studied the Silva Method and successfully used the Silva Mind Control Method to do self hypnosis and birthed her child naturally and painlessly. It was after using hypnosis to stop smoking in 1992 that Patricia realized her passion was to help others use hypnosis to help themselves.
Patricia received her hypnosis training with Retha Martin in 1998 and has been an active IMDHA member since that time. She was also blessed to be permitted to sit with her husband in class during his training at Infinity Institute and added to her hypnosis skills. Shortly afterward, the couple formed their hypnosis business.
Patricia started to research the possibility of opening an IMDHA school in Northeast Ohio and in 2000 the couple opened an IMDHA approved, State of Ohio licensed, School of Hypnotherapy. They have since sold the school.
Patricia continues her hypnosis training and holds certifications in Hypnoanesthesia and Pain Management, as well as Regression Therapy and Basic Ericksonian with the IMDHA. She is also a Certified NLP Practitioner, and is certified as a HypnoBirthing Practitioner and Imagery Birthing Instructor. She has been a Reiki Master since 1998 and enjoys teaching energy work as well as hypnosis.
Over the years, Patricia has presented at the IMDHA conference on topics such as How to Conduct A Self Hypnosis Workshop, Fractionation and in 2006 she offered Gentle Birthing as a certification course in natural childbirthing. She volunteered from 1999 through 2006 at the annual IMDHA conference where you may have seen her at the Registration Desk or collecting gifts for the conference raffle or as room monitor. It was in 2006 that Patricia received the honor of becoming an IMDHA Lifetime Fellow.
When the formal Mentoring program was developed, Patricia was one of the first to Volunteer as Mentor. She had been with the Peer Mentoring online group from its inception. She holds great respect to the hard work and dedication of James Duncan the originator of this program.
Today, Patricia does group hypnosis sessions for Stop Smoking and Weight Loss. Her metaphysical and spiritual interests found their outlet when she became Co-Owner of a new age retail store called Goddess Elite in 2005.
In March of 2009 James and Patricia became the IMDHA Chairmen when James Duncan retired from that position. One will most likely find this couple working together on just about every project. They are both IACT Members and Instructors since 2007.
